Helms Bakery District is excited to partner with the Culver City Arts District for the Art Walk and Roll Festival 2019, a self-guided tour and celebration of art, culture, and our creative community.
Begin at Helms Avenue and map your route to everything happening at the Bakery and beyond. Art and design are at the core of our programming, featuring artists Diego Cardoso, Sarajo Frieden, Philip Hindenach, Karlos Marquez, Kayla Sweet-Newhouse, and Diana Wong; photography collective Square Off/LA in support of the Culver Arts Foundation; an open house at Studio II; and more than 100 works by local contemporary artists inside Room & Board.
Plus, we’ve partnered with Culver City to activate our pedestrian plaza on Helms Walk with Riveropolis, an actual working river where kids of all ages come together and experiment with buoyancy, currents, gravity, waterfalls, boat building, and more!
In addition to the events all across the Helms campus, stroll through the Arts District along Washington Boulevard to visit galleries, enjoy live music, grab a bite, or stop at the mobility test area for e-bike, scooter, and board demos.
On Helms Walk
Stop at the information booths on Helms Walk to grab a program, purchase a tote bag, get a complete Art Walk map or ask directions. We are here to make your self-guided tour fun and easy!
Build a boat, design a bridge, and make a splash! Culver City welcomes Riveropolis, a social play, science, and design river that encourages children, families, and adults to come together and experiment with buoyancy, currents, gravity, waterfalls, and boat building. Situated on Helms Walk, it’s the perfect opportunity to take a break, socialize, and get creative. In between boat building and socializing, ask the city’s CivicSpark Fellows about Ballona Creek and the city’s revitalization efforts.
