Helms Design Center Hosts An Evening With Architect Michael Folonis

FreePlease join us Thursday April 7th from 6:30pm – 8:30pm for a reception, lecture, and discussion with MICHAEL FOLONIS of Michael W. Folonis Architects, as he shares his research, work, and philosophy in collaboration with the Cal Poly LA Metro Program in Architecture and Urban Design.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Parking is available at Valet on the corner of Helms Ave. and Venice Boulevard. Head down Helms Avenue toward Washington Boulevard, turn right to the Helms Design Center located at 8745 Washington Boulevard. Please rsvp to calpolylametro@gmail.com.
Michael Folonis, FAIA is design principal and founder of Michael W. Folonis Architecture of Santa Monica, California. The firm is committed to creating authentic, contemporary architecture informed by culture, history, technology, sustainability and building innovation. In 2008, Michael was elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects, the highest honor bestowed to an architect by the National AIA. Mr. Folonis has served on the Board of Directors, Los Angeles Chapter of the AIA and is currently a board member on the California Council of the AIA. Folonis earned his bachelor of Architecture degree from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) and his masters of architecture from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Michael taught studio design in both the graduate and undergraduate program at Cal Poly Pomona from 1983 to 2004. He currently teaches at SCI-Arc.
