Helms Sunset Cinema: A Wrinkle In Time
September 22, 2018 @ 7:15 pm - 9:30 pm
On Saturday, September 22, join us on Helms Walk, our pedestrian plaza on Helms Avenue, for our annual Sunset Cinema series. This year we embrace hopefulness, screening family-friendly heroic films with strong, brave, and courageous leaders who triumph when faced with challenging obstacles.
A WRINKLE IN TIME
2009 | Rated PG | Runtime: 109 Min
The third film in our series is A WRINKLE IN TIME. Meg (Storm Reid) and her little brother, Charles Wallace (Deric McCabe), have been without their scientist father for five years, ever since he discovered a new planet and used the concept known as a tesseract to travel there. Guided by the three mysterious astral travelers known as Mrs. Whatsit (Reese Witherspoon), Mrs. Who (Mindy Kaling), and Mrs. Which (Oprah Winfrey), the children brave a dangerous journey to a planet that possesses all of the evil in the universe.
Come by early to shop, grab a bite, or get your movie snack to go. We’ll provide plenty of chairs, so bring your friends and neighbors for a little free fun under the stars!
Plus, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, the ROSIES ice POP! cart will be visiting us selling pre-movie snacks.
Learning to navigate the world of employment is challenging for many, and for the 74% of people with disabilities who are unemployed in Los Angeles County, it can be even more daunting.
POP! provides intensive workplace training with ongoing softer and more natural skills guidance, led by the current ROSIES Crew training apprentices, for who skills such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, and/or decision-making might be challenging at times. Which if we were all honest with ourselves is really EVERYONE!
