RSVPStandard Architecture | Design is the Los Angeles based architecture and interior design partnership of architects Jeffrey Allsbrook, FAIA and Silvia Kuhle, FAIA. Our projects are guided by identity and culture, reflecting the narrative for which they’re designed. Conscious of architecture’s potential to communicate, from a way of living to a company’s image, our work aspires to provide the setting that expresses the idea.
Jeffrey Allsbrook, FAIA, a founding partner of Standard Architecture | Design, received a BS in Architecture from the Ohio State University and a Master of Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture. He also studied architecture at the Städelschule in Frankurt, Germany and at the Berlage Institute in Amsterdam. Mr. Allsbrook’s built and theoretical work has been featured in numerous publications both nationally and internationally. In addition to his professional work, he is committed to architectural education and research. He maintained a faculty position at the University of Southern California from 1999 to 2009. Mr. Allsbrook has presented lectures on Standard’s work and his independent research, as well as juried reviews at USC, SCI Arc, UCLA, Otis College and Rice University.
Silvia Kuhle, FAIA, a partner of Standard Architecture | Design, received her Diploma in architecture from the Technische Universität in Darmstadt, Germany, and her Master of Architecture from Columbia University in New York. Ms. Kuhle worked with Morphosis Architects for more than ten years. As Principal, she managed a broad range of award-winning projects including the Cooper Union, New York, Caltrans District 7 Headquarters, Los Angeles, and the award-winning competition entry for the Phare Tower in Paris. Ms. Kuhle’s work has been published in A+U, Architectural Record, SOMA, Columbia University Abstract, and SD. Ms. Kuhle taught design studios at UCLA, as well as lectured and juried reviews at SciArc, UCLA, USC and Cornell University.
Introduced and moderated by Stephen Phillips, FAIA, PhD, Principal of Stephen Phillips Architects (SPARCHS) and professor, director, Cal Poly LA Metro Program in Architecture and Urban Design (California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo).
