Helms Bakery District in partnership with Culver City’s Economic and Cultural Development team present this year’s LOVE LOCAL event. The day will focus on a selection of design-driven artisans and makers, along with lively local based music, interactive activities, and a happy hour from 5 pm-6 pm at Lustig restaurant!

Join us on the Helms campus located at Washington Boulevard and Helms Avenue in the Culver City Arts District. You’ll find over 20 activations outdoors on Helms Walk and inside participating showrooms and restaurants.

Blonde Peacock

Blonde Peacock combines their love for travel, photography and creating to bring you yoga clothing with meaning. Each tank top, harem jumper, or sweatshirt comes with the original photo and a story from the country where the moment was captured.

Campfire Coats

Jonathan Ward is an established automotive designer, now exploring apparel design and luxury leather goods. J.Ward Collection offers high quality leather bags and wallets, using only vegetable tanned leather and linen. With Campfire Coats, Jonathan makes one-off outerwear designs utilizing vintage and unique textiles. Each is one-of-one!

Cowpunk Leather Products

We are excited to welcome Cowpunk to the Love Local Market. David Petrie created Cowpunk Leather Products in 2013 after spending many years making leather items for himself and for friends. All of the items are made in his tiny workshop in Highland Park California and include wallets, dog collars, key lanyards, guitar straps, belts and leather guitar straps.

I Must Draw

I Must Draw is a stationery and gift line. The greeting cards are irreverent, cute and punny. The original designs are initially hand drawn and feature bright colors along with quirky hand lettering. Along with prints, you’ll find handmade ceramics featuring original illustrations. And plenty of baking related puns!

Le Bon Garçon

Le Bon Garçon is a Los Angeles confectionery inviting Asian-American flavors to French caramel. They use organic dairy and local produce to make their caramel. Le Bon Garçon creates French-style caramels with unexpected ingredients that revel in Asian American flavor.

Luna Reece Ceramics

Andrea of Luna Reece Ceramics designs and sculpts handmade ceramics for the home. Her work is built by hand, wheel thrown or slip cast. Andrea loves to create pieces that spark joy.

Panache Jewelry

Panache’s jewelry collection is made up of one-of-a-kind wire wrapped earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings that are all hand-made in Los Angeles by Amanda Diaz. Each piece is designed to ensure quality and style.

Paper Arboretum

Paper Arboretum puts a literal spin on garden decor! Artist Jerolyn Crute Sackman designs hand-assembled, waterproof pinwheels inspired by nature. Flowers, butterflies, feathers and more! “It brings me pleasure to make something that makes people smile and adds a bit of joy to life. Everyone becomes a happy little kid when they blow a pinwheel!”

Pocket Square Clothing

Pocket Square Clothing (PSC) has been passionately creating well designed accessories and formal apparel since 2011. Nestled in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, PSC takes immense pride in creating most of their products in-house at 50-year-old L.A. based manufacturer Top Hand MFG. With no formal fashion training, founders Rodolfo and Andrew sought to create a lifestyle brand beyond clothing. Starting with the bow tie, their collection now features menswear staples, a plethora of accessories including unisex eyewear, shirting, and custom suiting services. This is their effort to tell a story, to inspire and be inspired, and to create a powerful connection through timeless pieces.

Print Gonzalez

Daniel Gonzalez is an L.A. printmaker whose work can be found locally at the La Cienega/Jefferson Metro Station at the LA County Museum of Natural History and is currently on view at the Los Angeles Central Public Library. Daniel’s work connects his experience in Los Angeles with his own personal history and finds intersections between the past and present.

Rock n Sock

This husband and wife team has paired up to bring two perspectives together – he sells the rock and she sells the socks. All socks are branded and novelty, records are curated hip hop, classic rock, punk, and new wave.

The Style House of Chic is a Los Angeles based clothing brand focusing on the beauty of Natural, Organic, Recycled, and Vegan fibers. A highly curated collection featuring the ease of chic costal living.

Topanga’s Finest Gourmet Jerky

Topanga’s Finest Gourmet Jerky products were first designed for people with Celiac Disease, (they use Tamari Sauce instead of Soy Sauce). They use a high-tech USDA Certified kitchen and make prepackaged, gluten free jerky. Their products are made locally, with premium meats and high quality ingredients. Every bag contains a free flosser inside.

Join us on Helms Avenue from 2:00 – 5:00 pm for some lively music from local favorite, The George Kahn Quartet. The George Kahn Quartet featuring Courtney Lemmon delivers a blend of vocal jazz and blues that has wowed audiences from Beverly Hills to Bishop CA.  George has released 10 albums, with the most recent one (Dreamcatcher) reaching #5 on the JazzWeek radio charts. George and Courtney have a new album “The Jazz & Blues Holiday Soiree” coming out in September and available now for pre-release on Kickstarter.com

Artist Bio
Alexander Justin Gonzales is a painter from Houston, Texas. He graduated from The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and Cornell College, where he studied studio art with a focus in oil painting. In his formative years, he studied at the Beaux-Arts de Paris where he studied drawing. Currently exploring portraits working with ink, watercolor, and oil, Alexander works and lives in Los Angeles.

Jeeyon ‘G’ Roslie, is a Korean American textile artist and natural dyer based in Santa Barbara, California. Drawing inspiration from the profound beauty and equilibrium of the natural world, she meticulously hand-dyes flax linen using botanical plant extracts and earth mineral pigments to curate distinct palettes for each of her creations. G’s artistic journey seamlessly blends the tranquility of Zen minimalism, the elegance of modernist abstraction, and the nostalgic warmth of the 1970s craft revival, all woven together with the threads of poetry and poetic living.
