Join Us For A Screening of Public Trust on National Public Lands Day!
September 26, 2020 @ 7:00 am - 11:30 pm
Free
On Saturday, September 26th beginning at 7:00 am and ending at 11:30 pm, please join us for a free screening of the film PUBLIC TRUST.
In a time of growing polarization, Americans still share something in common: 640 million acres of public land. Held in trust by the federal government for all citizens of the United States, these places are a stronghold against climate change, sacred to native people, home to wildlife and intrinsic to our national identity. But today, despite support from voters across the political spectrum, they face unprecedented threats from extractive industries and the politicians who support these endeavors. Part love letter, part political exposé, PUBLIC TRUST investigates how we arrived at this precarious moment through three heated conflicts—a national monument in the Utah desert, a proposed mine in the Boundary Waters and oil drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge—and makes a case for their continued protection.

Wishing you all a Happy National Public Lands Day!
Image Description: Musk oxen have been around for almost two millions years. Along with caribou, they are the only hoofed animals that survived the end of the Pleistocene era. Today, they roam the tundra of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in Alaska, in search of grasses, mosses and herbs in the permafrost.
