A Screen Print Weekend with Carrie Burkle
July 24 @ 10:00 am - July 25 @ 4:00 pm
On Saturday and Sunday, July 24-25th 10:00 – 4:00 PM, please join educator, artist and co-founder of Textile Arts LA Carrie Burkle for Print, Make, Wear, Upcycle, a screen print weekend workshop.
In this workshop you will explore and produce prints using textile inks and screens on your own fabrics, table linens, pillow cushions, or clothing. This workshop originated in a conversation about printing our own fabrics for clothing: summer dresses, tunics, overalls and jumpsuits. The beauty of our pop-up studio and teaching style is that you can interpret our concept however you like! All you have to do is come prepared with pre-washed fabric, precut garment patterns from your own stash/collection, or simple constructed pieces of clothing, table linens, or home goods that need a fresh new look.
You will engage in design ideas using your imagination and personal design resources from artwork, photos, ephemera, books etc. Create your own unique prints on garment pattern pieces, or print on pre-bought fabric blanks, table linens or give a beloved piece of clothing or item a new life.
Students of all levels welcome. Please provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination(s) or mandatory masks are required at the door.
