Textile Arts Los Angeles Hosts Emerging Artists: Professional Development Program
September 12, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
On Wednesday, September 12 from 7 to 9 pm, please join Textile Arts Los Angeles (TALA) for the first class in their EMERGING ARTISTS: Professional Development Program (and Craft-palooza), a multi-part professional development series intended for emerging artists in any field – not just textiles/fiber!
TALA will address questions related to developing and sustaining a professional art practice. An informal craft-art community workshop will follow each presentation, to allow time for conversation and stretching your creative muscles. We hope to see you there! Visit textileartsla.org for more information and to register.
THE BUSINESS OF ART WITH A. MCLEAN EMENEGGER
A. McLean Emenegger has been an active leader in the L.A. artistic community since 1997. She reestablished her art consulting and visual artist support firm in 2016 to be McLean Art Projects, offering an expansion of her curatorial and educational services. She maintains an active public speaking schedule and travels extensively with her “Business of Art” workshops for visual artists. Emenegger will discuss how to navigate the business of art.
CRAFT-PALOOZA from 8 to 9 p.m.: Architect and artist Jeff Morrical will introduce the Miura* folding pattern that creates dimensional, sculptural paper forms. Craft-palooza is intended to be a quick, playful hour to stretch your creative muscles and engage with other student-attendees for networking and midweek relaxation. All materials will be supplied.
