Dance and get down with CONTRA-TIEMPO during their Sabor Session!

Join CONTRA-TIEMPO on Saturday, November 19th from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Helms Walk, our pedestrian plaza on Helms Avenue, as you move through and embody social dance practices rooted in the African and Afro-Latin Diaspora.

These ancestral movement practices were designed and passed down to build resilience, affirm joy, instill hope and to strengthen social and political resistance. From line dancing to comparsa processions from freestyling to Salsa; from cyphering to partnering – their sabor sessions will remind you of your strength, of our complexities as human beings, and your deep connection to others and the world around you.

Be ready to move your body and join the movement procession from the pedestrian plaza into the gallery space to view the beautiful photo exhibition of CAŃA that was captured by photographer Farah Sosa. The exhibition is available for viewing through November 20th.
