Curator and Artist, Rachel X Hobreigh in The Corridor Gallery: Closing Sunday, January 12th
January 12, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
On Thursday, December 12th from 6:00 to 9:30 pm, we are pleased to partner with artist and curator, Rachel X Hobreigh to present The Wall of Infinite Possibilities, a collection of three hundred, four-inch square canvases that create an interactive, ever-changing tapestry. This very literal barrier is connected through a microcosm of hidden and overt paintings of spirals coming together to create the whole.
The title and structure of the wall speak to the inequities of trapping someone inside or keeping out (as with border walls), while the energetic form of the spiral represents evolution and infinite growth. Spirals are one of the oldest human symbols known to originate in Neolithic times in cave drawings. In using the spiral, each individual piece considers visual balance as a form to access a language of serenity in times of uprooting.
A portion of the sales of each individual painting will be contributed to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), helping refugees around the world.
Opening Reception: Thursday December 12, 2019 from 6-9 :30 pm
Closing Reception: Sunday January 12, 2020 from 4-6 :30pm
Exhibition Dates: December 12 – January 12 (by appointment)
