Medium and small pieces will be created as vessels and stuffed forms. This workshop is perfect for artists and enthusiasts looking for a basis in understanding how to create dimensional form, play with unconventional materials, and investigate how form and material can be combined for creative and functional use.

On Sunday, March 15th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, please join Textile Arts Los Angeles and local fiber artist and spinning expert Anna Zinsmeister for The Art of Spinning, a hands-on experience spinning Karakul sheep wool sourced from a ranch in the northern edge of Los Angeles County. We’ll discuss the method and challenges of processing fleece into spin-able material, practice spinning with a hand spindle, and learn a bit about the various types of wool fibers and their uses.
